We have an awesome team that I am so thankful for. We are missing a few in this shot, though.
A friend that came to watch did snap a couple quick pics of my Bench, too.
That's one of my coaches in gray standing next to the rack.
All I can say is WOW for the whole experience!
We drove up Friday morning to make the early weigh in for the meet. So we had the whole day Friday to hang out - we knew we needed our rest, so really we just chilled and had a nice team dinner out together so we'd be ready to go Saturday morning. Saturday was a long day - we hit the gym at 8am, lifts started at 9am, and we weren't done till around 6pm. I was impressed the kids did as well as they did. I know it was a long day for them. Michael did leave with them once for lunch and I told them multiple times they could go back and chill at the hotel if they wanted - but they hung out and I was so grateful! I loved hearing "Go Mommy" being cheered for me!
We did go for dinner after the meet and to celebrate a teammate's birthday, but we were all pretty worn out, so it was straight to bed after that! We decided the next day to have a little adventure with friends and tried out Gourdough's Public House for breakfast. After being so strict for so long a little indulgence was in order...and OMG!!!!
Everything on their menu is made with donuts - all their burgers and sandwiches! I myself had the Nutty Valentine - which starts with the most amazing donut I've ever had, covered with nutella and strawberries!
I mean, c'mon - just look at this donut!
We also ordered a Dirty Harry to share...these were donut holes - coconut cream filled donut holes with chocolate icing and fresh coconut!
You think, oh just one donut...but I don't think anyone at the table finished their donut!
After that we went to the store and bought spray paint and headed to Graffiti Park...this is definitely a place to visit when you're in Austin. My nephew lives in Austin, so he joined us for the afternoon, too. It was his first time to see the park. The kids (and grown ups, too) all enjoyed this adventure!
My nephew - Ross!
Emma left her mark big...
This girl LOVED it!
Her little whale! So cute!
And I did, too!
Everything got painted!
I was so thankful for this amazing weekend together! It was truly a blessed time! And I am so thankful for the support from my family and friends while I've been preparing for this event, too! It meant the world to me to feel so much love for my first competition!
