Our Thanksgiving Day started off bright and early - we went out for breakfast and the kids had hot chocolate!
Then we rushed over to mom & dad's house to catch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (which I love to watch) and help get our dinner going! We had a great day at my parents' house and made a not so traditional Thanksgiving feast - we decided we'd make a big pot of gumbo and it was so great!! Mother made cornbread and rice to go with it and of course made Michael's favorite dessert - apple dumplings! He's a little spoiled, too!
Starters to tide everyone over!
Baked Brie with apricots - warm and creamy!
The Main Course!!
Emma snuck off with my camera and snapped this picture of mother and me at the stove!!
Michael and my dad didn't move for a while after that meal!
But Emma and Teta were hard at work on their dessert!
So they found their way back to the table for this!
Emma and Geddo worked on some hand art, too!
Do you separate your candy by color???
The day after Thanksgiving Michael's side of the family came over to celebrate! We had a bigger crowd so we had to have two tables set!
One for the kids with some fun for their setting!
And the big kids table set with two birds!
One roasted and then Michael fried another for us - it was amazing!
I guess in total we had three turkeys b/c Emma helped put this fun tray together, too!
We had such great weather, we spent all our time except for eating outside playing games!
These cousins had so much fun seeing one another!
We hope you had an equally blessed Thanksgiving holiday!
