Yes, it rained Wednesday, but that didn't stop us from spending the day at the zoo and having fun! It only rained mostly in the beginning so we spent the first little while in the reptile and aquarium exhibits to escape the weather.
Then it just drizzled on us a little and finally let up - made for a cooler day at least!
We headed to the elephants and unfortunately the rain was still heavy enough I didn't keep my camera out but a sec.
We got to see the Gorillas for the first time and I was in awe! They kept one family out together and the other three males stayed indoors in the playroom while they were out - then they would switch for a while. The three males that were so much fun to watch - they were only inches away from us, separated by glass! And they were so active and rambunctious - at one point one male was running around after another and actually charged up and hit the glass! There were screams - it was intense, but amazing! They were beating their chests and everything.
This pic doesn't make them look very active! LOL
The father that was outside was truly fascinating, too - so proud!
This one, that I think was female, was so funny - just sat up, legs crossed, staring us down like we were staying at them!
The next place I wanted to make sure we spent some time was with the giraffes!
And we came back around for feeding time, too!
After the big animals it was time to visit and play with some of the small ones!
Emma was our navigator and took us from exhibit to exhibit!
We had a blast and were worn out by the end!
They were both snoozing by the time we pulled into the driveway! LOL
