Getting My Crafty On

When I was 16 years old I got an antique vanity for my birthday. It's been in my bedroom ever since. Well, this week it finally got a long overdue makeover!!
This is how it looked to begin with...

And this is how it looks now after I've been working on it!

I think it's a pretty good improvement!

We've been in our home 10 years now and every room seems to have gone through a makeover except our bedroom. Actually our bedroom has never really had its own decor. We've painted a wall and got new furniture, but it's always been pretty bare. So, I've finally got a vision for what I want and this is the first step.

I also updated an old mirror that I got from my Grannie's house...I wish I had taken a before picture, though. It was a matte gold color before. You can kind of see the before peeking out in this picture.
Projects galore this NYE!!
And here is the final product...

I love the way this one turned out, too!

I've still got one more project to finish. I hope to complete it this week and will share when I do. I did also buy this great piece to keep my necklaces on my vanity - I love this look!

I hope Michael doesn't feel like our room is becoming too girlie on him now! LOL

There is an amazing antique store about a mile from our house - it's over 85,000 square feet! It isn't all antiques, but mostly. I have found several pieces there that I love and it's also where I bought the chalk based paint I've been using. And the lady that sells it is pretty awesome and has a lot of great pieces in her booths.

I found this amazing chair there, too - I haven't bought it yet, but I'm getting closer every time I visit, which is becoming more frequently...

Originally I was looking at the chair b/c I thought it would be great for photo shoots, but now I think I would love to put it in front of my newly redone vanity!! It's just so pretty!

I can't wait to finish the other project & share it as well. I really hope it turns out as well as everything else I've finished so far.
