My Baby Girl Got Her Ears Pierced...and Pretty ETx Pics

Emma decided last night was the night!! Actually, she decided a couple nights ago, but we didn't make it out to actually get it done till last night! She's always said she wanted her ears pierced, but said she was going to wait till she was 15! Don't ask me why, that's just what she always said...well, she changed her mind - and that's fine b/c I was excited to take her last night & get her ears pierced!

She decided on Hello Kitty & we bought her a necklace that matched the earrings. After the first one went in & I saw the look on her face I was a little worried we might not get the 2nd one done...but she was a big girl and just closed her eyes and went for it!! I was so proud of her for being so brave!

Tomorrow is her b'day party - I cannot believe she is going to be 6 on Monday! We went out earlier this week to pick out her birthday cake - well, she picked it out. I let her pick whatever she wanted & we ended up with Victorious this year. She…

I'm ready for another week off...

I feel like we were on the go non stop this Thanksgiving! We got off Friday and had a day of rest, then hit the road for Great Wolf Lodge Sunday - we were there till Tuesday & then headed back home for one day. Wednesday morning I was up early for errands & did a family photo shoot.
We had a beautiful, though somewhat warm morning for pictures. When I made it home Michael had all our lights up outside!! Then it was time to start cooking for our annual Thanksgiving with friends! Followed by Thanksgiving with family on Thursday at our house. Michael fried up two of the best turkeys for both days - they were super yummy & delicious! And after only being home a couple days we hit the road again for East Texas to see more family, play in the country, & hunt deer (Michael - not me!!)...

Friday morning driving up we went through a little rain, but it cleared up and turned out to be such beautiful weather! We were outside, bundled up, every day! And my kiddos got to see their…

It's Thanksgiving & We've Been Playing in the Water

This was a great little getaway for our little family to start the Thanksgiving Holiday!!! We headed up to Grapevine to visit the Great Wolf Lodge. I've wanted to check out this place forever & it finally worked out for us to go. We all had a blast and were thoroughly waterlogged by the time our stay was over! The kids had tons of fun in the water, eating breakfast with the characters, pajama story time with all the characters, & going on a scavenger hunt with magic wands through the entire resort! I love Aaron's pjs - my mom made them for him! Aren't they cute?? And don't camo hats go with pjs??? My son seems to think so! If you're ever near one of their resorts you should surely check it out! It's so worth the visit!
I haven't even looked at all my pictures from the trip - we came in last night and haven't stopped. I headed out this morning for a family portrait session, after a trip to the grocery store, and now we're getting ready for …

Tis the season...

...for everyone to get sick.

First it was Aaron...then big sister followed suit. Though, with Emma you never know she is sick. She did not complain one time - then Thursday night she felt a little warm and said her ear hurt. I gave her some Tylenol and she never complained again. Then her ear ruptured (still no complaining, though) and we knew she had an ear infection. Turned out to be two when we finally were able to get in to see the doctor...she is now on antibiotics for ten days, but is still not complaining at all. The girl must have a high tolerance for pain!
And now my babysitter is sick, too - she called me Thursday morning at 6am to let me know she couldn't keep Aaron - she did sound terrible, too. And then Thursday evening I talked to her again and she still sounded terrible. She thinks she has strep - uh oh!!! So needless to say, Aaron is having his own little slumber party with Geddo & Teta! They were both planning to spend the night tonight anyway, so Aaron just …

Senior Year Already!?!?

Of course, I'm not talking about mine...but the kids that live on either side of us are more like family than some that are blood related & we feel like theirs kids are as much ours! We've been there from the beginning of all their lives, with the exception of the two teenagers, but they were itty bitty when we all moved next to one another so it's not much different!

When we moved in Briana was still in elementary and now she is about to graduate HS and go off to college! I don't know what we are going to do without her. I am so proud of this young lady! She is in like the top 8% of her class - she is so very mature - she keeps our kids all the time and I don't just mean babysitting. She has activities for them, snacks, makes them do homework after school, punishes when needed and appropriately, and even calls 911 & practices first aid when your daughter splits her head open (yeah, that would be my daughter that did that)!

Sunday afternoon I had the honor …

It's all fun & games...
Poor Emma - Aaron doesn't quite grasp the rules of the game yet, so she had to keep adjusting his player for him b/c he wanted to move it all over the board! LOL

They still play so well together, though and I'm so thankful for that.

Aaron has been struggling with his breathing again, but it's just that time of year. He has finally got used to the breathing machine and I can just give it to him and he will keep it in his mouth for the most part. He did run fever a couple days this week so he stayed home Tuesday & Wednesday, but thankfully before we rushed off to the doctor whatever it was cleared up.

He's been fever free now 36 hours. Assuming it was something viral that just had to run it's course. He is still a bit congested so we are continuing breathing treatments a little while longer.

So far Emma has avoided it, but last night she started complaining about her ear so we are watching out for other symptoms. I hate it when t…

We've had a busy week, but it's been fun!
Carving Pumpkins, visiting my parents, hayrides & wienie roasts, pumpkin patch, & I even made a new scarf! Michael didn't "get" the scarf, but I like it & got a lot of compliments on it! LOL
Now I'm ready for the weekend! We have fun plans out Saturday night with friends - I can't wait!
Have a great weekend!!

Trick? Or Treat????

Last night was definitely a treat! We all had a blast - big kids & little ones! Like we do every year, Michael pulled our trailer around the neighborhood with his four-wheeler loaded up with kiddos! Our neighborhood was slammed, too - there were traffic jams everywhere b/c of the number of kids out last night.

We ended the night at the haunted house - one of the houses turns their front yard into a haunted maze every year to get to the front door & it gets better and better with each year. Emma chose to pass, so Aaron and I made our way through it to get to the candy. She told me later, "I wasn't scared, but I just chose not to go..." - LOL!!!!

Aaron told me he was "skeered", but he never cried. He just looked away when he saw something he didn't like. My brave little man! Hey, he knows you gotta do what you gotta do to get to that candy!
