My Baby Girl Got Her Ears Pierced...and Pretty ETx Pics

Emma decided last night was the night!! Actually, she decided a couple nights ago, but we didn't make it out to actually get it done till last night! She's always said she wanted her ears pierced, but said she was going to wait till she was 15! Don't ask me why, that's just what she always said...well, she changed her mind - and that's fine b/c I was excited to take her last night & get her ears pierced!

She decided on Hello Kitty & we bought her a necklace that matched the earrings. After the first one went in & I saw the look on her face I was a little worried we might not get the 2nd one done...but she was a big girl and just closed her eyes and went for it!! I was so proud of her for being so brave!

Tomorrow is her b'day party - I cannot believe she is going to be 6 on Monday! We went out earlier this week to pick out her birthday cake - well, she picked it out. I let her pick whatever she wanted & we ended up with Victorious this year. She loves all the music!

I still haven't gone through all my pictures from this past week/weekend, but I'll share a few more of my ipics from ETx - it is sooo beautiful up there this time of year! Enjoy...
 Love the red leaves.

He's a handsome little rock thrower, though my son!!!

What is it with boys & rocks?!?! Hit the country and the rocks start sailing!!!

Have a wonderful weekend!!

I'm ready for another week off...

I feel like we were on the go non stop this Thanksgiving! We got off Friday and had a day of rest, then hit the road for Great Wolf Lodge Sunday - we were there till Tuesday & then headed back home for one day. Wednesday morning I was up early for errands & did a family photo shoot.
FamPics
We had a beautiful, though somewhat warm morning for pictures. When I made it home Michael had all our lights up outside!! Then it was time to start cooking for our annual Thanksgiving with friends! Followed by Thanksgiving with family on Thursday at our house. Michael fried up two of the best turkeys for both days - they were super yummy & delicious! And after only being home a couple days we hit the road again for East Texas to see more family, play in the country, & hunt deer (Michael - not me!!)...

Friday morning driving up we went through a little rain, but it cleared up and turned out to be such beautiful weather! We were outside, bundled up, every day! And my kiddos got to see their first deer cleaned - now they know where all the meat in our freezer comes from! I thought they would be grossed out & actually at one point there were a few "Ewwwwssss", but for the most part they were fine with it - Emma even put some of the meat in the cooler for her daddy!
Thanksgiving3
They sat in the truck & watched almost the entire process...they were so funny! Aaron had us cracking up just acting silly with Emma!!
Thanksgiving2
We went on a lot of walks, too - like I said, even though it was cool out, it was just too beautiful to be inside missing all the pretty colors of the fall!
Road to Grannie's house
Yeah, it wasn't easy leaving all that behind & driving back to Houston...

Here are a few more pics from our week off - now we're back to work & school & the day to day!!

It's Thanksgiving & We've Been Playing in the Water

This was a great little getaway for our little family to start the Thanksgiving Holiday!!! We headed up to Grapevine to visit the Great Wolf Lodge. I've wanted to check out this place forever & it finally worked out for us to go. We all had a blast and were thoroughly waterlogged by the time our stay was over! The kids had tons of fun in the water, eating breakfast with the characters, pajama story time with all the characters, & going on a scavenger hunt with magic wands through the entire resort!
Breakfast with friends!!
I love Aaron's pjs - my mom made them for him! Aren't they cute??
And don't camo hats go with pjs??? My son seems to think so!
Wave jumping!!!
If you're ever near one of their resorts you should surely check it out! It's so worth the visit!

I haven't even looked at all my pictures from the trip - we came in last night and haven't stopped. I headed out this morning for a family portrait session, after a trip to the grocery store, and now we're getting ready for our first Thanksgiving feast! We've made a tradition of getting together with friends for Thanksgiving as well as our families and tonight is that dinner. Michael has his turkey all ready to fry and I have veggies to roast and cookies cooling! Tomorrow we're hosting Thanksgiving for my side of the house here and then will visit Michael's parents...so, no - I haven't had time yet to look at my pics! It's been busy since we walked in the door! I did manage to unpack, but have laundry backing up on me now!

So...if you don't hear from me till after the holiday it's b/c I'll be in a turkey induced coma!!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!

Tis the season...

...for everyone to get sick.

First it was Aaron...then big sister followed suit. Though, with Emma you never know she is sick. She did not complain one time - then Thursday night she felt a little warm and said her ear hurt. I gave her some Tylenol and she never complained again. Then her ear ruptured (still no complaining, though) and we knew she had an ear infection. Turned out to be two when we finally were able to get in to see the doctor...she is now on antibiotics for ten days, but is still not complaining at all. The girl must have a high tolerance for pain!
Waiting at the doctors office.Reading at the doctor's office!
And now my babysitter is sick, too - she called me Thursday morning at 6am to let me know she couldn't keep Aaron - she did sound terrible, too. And then Thursday evening I talked to her again and she still sounded terrible. She thinks she has strep - uh oh!!! So needless to say, Aaron is having his own little slumber party with Geddo & Teta! They were both planning to spend the night tonight anyway, so Aaron just got one night up on Emma! She didn't think that was fair, but I told her she could have another night all to herself over there...and we got to FaceTime with Aaron last night. By the time the day was ending Emma was really starting to miss Aaron. They go back and forth fighting & playing, but it warms my heart to know they really do love one another & I can see how they miss one another in times like this.
FaceTime with our favorite little man at his slumber party with Geddo & Teta!!
After only one night I'm really missing my boy, too so I'll be anxious to see him tonight even if it's only for a little while when they come to pick up Emma.

Have a great weekend!

Senior Year Already!?!?

Of course, I'm not talking about mine...but the kids that live on either side of us are more like family than some that are blood related & we feel like theirs kids are as much ours! We've been there from the beginning of all their lives, with the exception of the two teenagers, but they were itty bitty when we all moved next to one another so it's not much different!

When we moved in Briana was still in elementary and now she is about to graduate HS and go off to college! I don't know what we are going to do without her. I am so proud of this young lady! She is in like the top 8% of her class - she is so very mature - she keeps our kids all the time and I don't just mean babysitting. She has activities for them, snacks, makes them do homework after school, punishes when needed and appropriately, and even calls 911 & practices first aid when your daughter splits her head open (yeah, that would be my daughter that did that)!

Sunday afternoon I had the honor of taking some Senior Portraits for her. I am very pleased with how the pictures came out and she is such a beautiful girl, too - her pictures all look awesome. We'll do it all over again when her cap & gown come in, too! Excited for those!

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from this session. I really liked so many, but of course couldn't post them all!

It's all fun & games...
Poor Emma - Aaron doesn't quite grasp the rules of the game yet, so she had to keep adjusting his player for him b/c he wanted to move it all over the board! LOL
Now!! Playing Princess Friends Forever game with my babies!
They still play so well together, though and I'm so thankful for that.

Aaron has been struggling with his breathing again, but it's just that time of year. He has finally got used to the breathing machine and I can just give it to him and he will keep it in his mouth for the most part. He did run fever a couple days this week so he stayed home Tuesday & Wednesday, but thankfully before we rushed off to the doctor whatever it was cleared up.

He's been fever free now 36 hours. Assuming it was something viral that just had to run it's course. He is still a bit congested so we are continuing breathing treatments a little while longer.

So far Emma has avoided it, but last night she started complaining about her ear so we are watching out for other symptoms. I hate it when they're sick - but we've been blessed that it only happens maybe a couple times a year. We have pretty healthy kiddos!
Brother & Sister
New product I love - I'm pimped the Impressions brand before, but this one by Kiss is pretty awesome, too. This manicure lasted about 3 weeks. I finally took it off just b/c I was ready for something new, not b/c they weren't lasting any longer than that, though.
Latest mani going on week #3! These are the Kiss brand. So far I like them as much as the Impressions.
And these beautiful flowers all came from my hubby's garden. He cut these & made this pretty arrangement Tuesday...so glad he has a green thumb b/c I surely do not!
Look what's hubby put together from his flower beds!
Tonight is date night. Don't have a clue what we're doing, though - maybe I'll just tell Michael to surprise me.

We've had a busy week, but it's been fun!
Beautiful #sky this evening! #sunset #clouds #sunrays
Carving Pumpkins, visiting my parents, hayrides & wienie roasts, pumpkin patch, & I even made a new scarf! Michael didn't "get" the scarf, but I like it & got a lot of compliments on it! LOL

Now I'm ready for the weekend! We have fun plans out Saturday night with friends - I can't wait!

Have a great weekend!!

Trick? Or Treat????

Last night was definitely a treat! We all had a blast - big kids & little ones! Like we do every year, Michael pulled our trailer around the neighborhood with his four-wheeler loaded up with kiddos! Our neighborhood was slammed, too - there were traffic jams everywhere b/c of the number of kids out last night.

We ended the night at the haunted house - one of the houses turns their front yard into a haunted maze every year to get to the front door & it gets better and better with each year. Emma chose to pass, so Aaron and I made our way through it to get to the candy. She told me later, "I wasn't scared, but I just chose not to go..." - LOL!!!!

Aaron told me he was "skeered", but he never cried. He just looked away when he saw something he didn't like. My brave little man! Hey, he knows you gotta do what you gotta do to get to that candy!
