I'll just say that life has been keeping
This past week we lost a dear member of our family. My Aunt Vertie (she is really my mother's first cousin) past away this past week. She was 91 years old and lived a very full life. She was a practical jokester, always the life of the party, she was a Christian woman, she was a great mother & grandmother, and she will be missed. We said goodbye to her Saturday and while it was hard, I take comfort in knowing what a legacy she left behind & that she is now with Uncle Wilson in heaven and that she is no longer in any pain. She went home from the hospital and was with her immediate family for six hours - visiting, laughing, smiling, loving - then past away very peacefully.
Sadly funerals often times become the only reunions we have with family and friends, too. But in all that sadness, the fellowship brings a lot of happiness with it. It was great to see family that I haven't seen in a long time.
So, even though it was sad, it was also a good time to see family - and I even got to see my hubby! Michael had gone up to East Texas two days prior to fish in a tournament with my brother and since that is where the funeral was held my parents, the kids, & I drove up Saturday morning early, picked up my Grannie, then after the funeral we all went out together for lunch with Michael and my brother and got to hear their fish "tales"! Michael did place on the first day of the tournament by the way - but failed to get a picture of his catch!!
I realized today that it's been about 12 years now since I started blogging and I have to say the face of blogging (not just my own) has made a lot of changes over the years! I've met so may great folks through blogging and learned and shared so much along the way. It's such a fun journey!!
Hope you had a nice weekend and here's to a great week ahead!
