Gin (not in liquid form), Homemade Pizza, Putt Putt, Home Projects...OR Our Weekend

Like I said in my previous post we had one of my favorite kinds of weekends...we had fun time with family, fun time out just Michael & me and we were super productive! So, I'll just start with Friday and run through the weekend highlights!

Friday evening my parents came over to play Gin with us & have homemade pizza! I made PW's Taco Pizza & used the Jiffy Pizza Crust mix and I made a Canadian Bacon & Pineapple Pizza using the Fleischmann's Pizza Crust Yeast like I did the first time I made homemade pizza.  I have to say they were both very good - not really much difference except the Jiffy has all the dry ingredients already mixed up for you so you just add the liquid. So, in the future I might just buy the Jiffy mix.
Then it was on to the cards!!! I have to say I was a little discouraged in the beginning b/c I just could not win a hand, but then I won three in a row...and that was my limit of wins for the evening. I still had a lot of fun!
Aaron made the rounds & sat with everyone to help them with their hands - here he was helping me keep score! You can tell by that determined look on his face that Michael takes his card games very seriously - Michael takes all games very seriously, actually!
Geddo looks like he is seriously concentrating on that hand while Aaron is seriously concentrating on Teta's! LOL
Emma had asked all evening to spend the night with Teta & Geddo so she went home with them afterwards. The next morning Michael, Aaron & I were out of the house by 8:30 getting things for our home projects and didn't get home till after 1:00. That evening the kids got to see their other grandparents, too! Michael & I had an evening out just the two of us to play while Grandma & Grandpa kept the kids.
Dinner & putt putt...it was a fun night!
Sunday morning we got up for church, had a bite afterwards, then it was home to get started on some of those projects! We're doing a few ourselves & having some remodeling done, too - we figured it would be better to do our part of the projects first, though. Changing out several light fixtures, doing a little painting (3 areas of painting actually) and other little aesthetic changes around the house - oh, we also finally got a new dishwasher so now it's not the only white appliance in the kitchen anymore! WooHoo - my excitement comes from totally different sources these days then when I was younger! Ha!

A while back we rearranged our bedroom, too and now I have a wall that needs...something. So, that's on the project list, too. I might be reaching out for some with ideas. A flat screen is one idea, but I'm still not 100% on board with that one (unless it's this one) - I'll have to post of pics of the room & hopefully someone more creative than me will have the perfect solution!

Have a Marvelous Monday friends!
  1. Putt putt is always fun - I need to plan that with Kenny soon! I can't wait to see pictures of your room and the new lights!

  6. Hi there

A flat screen would be awesome, but another great idea would be a big size antique(or not) mirror. Shockingly mirrors make a big difference in a room. Brings out the brightness as well as makes it look spacious.

  7. My husband looks the same way when he is playing cards or any other game or sport for that matter! He is so funny but so competitive. Looks like you had some great family time!
