So last night we did something new for dinner - well, I did something new for dinner! Homemade pizza!! Yes, of course I've made homemade pizza before...do ya think I've been living under a rock or something! But...for everyone out there that has made homemade pizza before - have you ever made your own dough before??? Well, there ya go - neither had I!! But after last night I can't say that anymore! A friend told me she made homemade pizza dough & that it was fantastic - so I thought it would be fun & yummy to do myself. She uses the Fleischmann's Pizza Dough Yeast:

LOL - I didn't know I could throw pizza dough. And yes, that wine bottle is my rolling pin as I do not own a real rolling pin! Ha ha! I had cooked chicken & shredded it to go on our pizza along with sausage, cheese & jalapenos. It was so good.
One thing I will do differently, though...my friend said she cooked her dough first before topping it and then put it back in the oven. So, that's what I did, but she only half way cooked it...I cooked it done & it made the edges way too crispy. Next time I am going to top the raw dough and then put it all in the oven to cook one time. That's actually what the recipe on the back of the yeast packet said to do, anyway.
And another thing I might try next time is to make up some garlic butter and brush that along the edges of the crust before baking - I think that would give it a little extra something yummy, too!
