Friday Fotos

I tried a new recipe this week that I found at Kristance Ann's site! And it was a big hit in our house!
I give you Brie & Bacon Quiche! Yum-O!
This was a treat, too b/c you don't usually find bacon in our house! And put it together with brie!?!? Talk about fantastic!!
Also - do you get these things from your dentist? When I get a check up I get these cute little pouches with my new toothbrush, dental floss, toothpaste & my next appointment card. I always keep the little bag b/c I use it when I travel to carry my toothbrush in and keep it clean - but I have so many I've started repurposing them, too - awesome for keeping all the little things together like pony tail holders!

I am combining iPhoneography & Momma in Focus today...we've had a little icky in our house, so we haven't had a lot of camera time. I think we're all about 100% again, though...which is good b/c we have big plans for the weekend!
The prompt for Momma in Focus this week was LOVE!! Can't think of anything better when photographing your kiddos than love either!

My baby boy loves his Momma!
So much he nearly squeezed my nose off!! LOL
And so does my Little Princess...
And I love them both dearly!

Like I said we all weren't 100% this week so it was sweet that they came & snuggled in the bed with me for a little in the afternoon - made my day!

WILW...Wordlessly

I'll let the pictures do the talking...these are the people & things I am loving so much this Wednesday (and always)!!
My beautiful babies & how much they seem to love one another!
My Hubby!!!

These past few weeks I have really needed my family more than ever - their importance in my life is more and more apparent with each passing day & night. They are my first priority and my sustenance for life!  I thank God for them each night when I say my prayers and always pray that I can be the best wife & mother to them all the years of my life.

Weekend Recap on Tuesday

We had such a great weekend!!!

Friday was date night! My parents offered to come over & stay with the kids so we could get out of the house by ourselves for a little while. We went to see Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. It was fantastic!!! I loved the first one - the next two were a little odd - but this one was the best!

Saturday was Spring Cleaning at our house! I worked from about 8:00 in the morning until about 4:00 in the afternoon - I took out three bags of trash (stuff that was just collecting dust), cleaned out my closet & gave it a mini makeover removing two bags of clothes to donate - and a huge box of other miscellaneous "stuff" to donate from the house (tons of baby stuff). We also rearranged our room and I love it - we have so much more space in our room now. It feels like we're in a new place!

Sunday was the most full day of the weekend, though. We went to church, then out for brunch, then blew up the pool at home and filled it with water - Emma I went to the grocery store while the pool filled up & let the sun warm the water a bit, while Aaron napped at home with Daddy (Aaron napped - not Daddy! LOL) - then the kids swam forever & Michael's brother came over to visit for the evening. Then we all went out for dinner & had dessert at Tutti Frutti! Then back home & Emma painted the stepping stone we had made the day before & when we were finished set it outside to dry and mixed up another one & poured it into a mold!

Phew - I love weekends like this one! We got so much accomplished, but had so much fun, too & were completely tired out come Sunday evening!!!

Here's a few pics of my babies having fun in the water! Hope you enjoy them as much as they did playing in the water!

The kids had a blast in the water - then daddy had fun spraying them with the water!
Aaron tried to grab the water & Emma was running from it! LOL

Say NO to noreply@blogger

I love your comments! And so many times, well most of the time, I also reply to your comments! I love going into my email, reading your comments & being able to hit reply & send you a note back. Sometimes, though when I hit reply instead of an email address I can reply to I see the dreaded noreply-comment@blogger.com instead! That means that user does not have their profile set up with an email address, so whenever you leave a comment for a blogger they are unable to respond directly to you...

So, if you would like bloggers to be able to respond to your comments easily (this is especially great if you ask questions so you don't have to go back to the post & see if the author answered in another comment) here's how you set it up on your Dashboard in Blogger...

It's that easy! Now whenever you leave a comment the blogger will easily be able to respond to you. This is also great if you're entering a giveaway and forget to leave your email address along with your comment.

Friday Fotos

This is the way we brush our teeth
"This is the way we brush our teeth, brush our teeth, brush our teeth...
This is the way we brush our teeth so early in the morning!"

Michael went to play basketball after worked, so I picked up both kids (he usually gets Emma) and headed home to start dinner. We had giant meatballs last night!! Which I totally thought Emma would be all about b/c she could help me cook and get her hands all in it! In my mind I thought she'd love it b/c it would be like play doh - yeah, um...no! It got her hands too dirty!!! I've told you, my little princess does not like to get her hands dirty! Ha ha - Aaron on the other hand - BRING ON THE DIRT!
So anyway, she did help me with dinner and Michael got home just in time to sit down to eat...for dessert we had some yummy blackberries, which made a yummy mess all over Aaron's face, so into the bath they went! While Michael cleaned them up, I cleaned up the kitchen.
When everything was finally done and we were all in our pj's we sat down to play a while and Emma wanted to do my hair - so I sat in the floor so she could brush my hair while Aaron climbed all over me! During all that fun I remembered that FUN was the prompt for the Momma in Focus pictures for today!! Not a toy in sight - just Emma with a brush and Aaron climbing on me, but we were having a blast!
It isn't a great picture, but it was great fun! Getting down on the floor with my kids & playing with them has to be some of the best times in my life! And I hope it'll be some of their favorite memories, too - that mommy & daddy spent time playing with them!

WILW {{Picture-Full Post}}

♥THIS WEATHER♥
It is simply fantastic!!! We actually got a Spring this year and I couldn't love it more...means more opportunities for summer sweaters like this one I have on today! The yucky humidity usually means it isn't really comfy to wear stuff like this...
It also means that we are outside more! The muggy weather we usually have is so bad for my migraines, so I really try to take advantage when it's nice to get outside & play! And that's what we did yesterday!!

We ate tomatoes from the garden (Michael gripes b/c we eat them as soon as they're red - but they're just so good!!)
(Emma with a whole cherry tomato in her mouth)
We swang - yep, daddy was in the baby swing! LOL - he's such a goof!
Rode in the car...er, rather Aaron climbed all around the car!
Got my beautiful girl to actually sit still for a second & smile for the camera!
Aaron still rarely looks at the camera, though!
Played baseball!! Hey batter, batter - Suh-wing Batter!
It's been so nice that sometimes I am afraid that we may have to pay for it when summer really gets here! Eek! Trying not to think that way, though!!! Just thankful it's so great today!

What if we woke up tomorrow with only the things we thanked God for today??

Do you plan a weekly menu?

There are a few Weekly Menu memes out there...I guess the most popular, though is over at OrgJunkie's site...
I've never participated, b/c honestly, we never really know from day to day just what we'll want to eat for dinner. But, the advantage of menu planning is that if you're undecided you don't stand in front of the fridge/freezer/pantry with the door open trying to figure out dinner so long that you just end up having cereal!! We actually used to plan meals as we grocery shopped. As something looked good in the grocery story we'd put it in the buggy and before check out take inventory and make sure we had about five meals planned out in the buggy along with the other necessities we needed for the house. Over time we kinda got away from that, though and instead of planning would just buy the essentials and a couple items that looked good with no plan for the week and then we're back to standing in front of the pantry door trying to visualize a meal in there!

So now I want to get back into weekly menu planning - for a couple reasons - it's more budget friendly b/c you buy what you really need and it saves time. With a plan each night I can get home, get dinner done and everything cleaned up early with plenty of play time left in the evening!

If you don't like to meal plan you can always use a site like Kraftfoods.com - they have a cool tool called 1 Bag, 5 Dinners. You can just pick a planned menu from them and they give you the shopping list & all the recipes to print. How easy is that!
Of course, this is only if you like the menu they have for the week. There are a few that are pretty good, but I like to add my own flair to my meals! Though you could always use theirs as a guideline & spruce it up however you like!

So, do you do a weekly meal plan? What's your secret for a successful menu?

iPhoneography & Pizza

Well, to start - Welcome Back Blogger, but what happened to my latest post??? Will it be returning? I posted about one of my pics being used in an article and that post seems to have disappeared...boo blogger!
Well, if I can't do anything about it, then we'll all just have to move on...
So last night we did something new for dinner - well, I did something new for dinner! Homemade pizza!! Yes, of course I've made homemade pizza before...do ya think I've been living under a rock or something! But...for everyone out there that has made homemade pizza before - have you ever made your own dough before??? Well, there ya go - neither had I!! But after last night I can't say that anymore! A friend told me she made homemade pizza dough & that it was fantastic - so I thought it would be fun & yummy to do myself. She uses the Fleischmann's Pizza Dough Yeast:
You get three of these packets for about $1.50 - to that you add water, flour, sugar, salt & a little oil...so if you're making one crust it comes to be about $0.50. How much did you pay for that ready made crust?? Yeah I bet it wasn't $0.50 and I bet you didn't have as much fun making it as I did - check this out!
(Please pardon the blur - hubby snapped this while I was playing making the dough!)

LOL - I didn't know I could throw pizza dough. And yes, that wine bottle is my rolling pin as I do not own a real rolling pin! Ha ha! I had cooked chicken & shredded it to go on our pizza along with sausage, cheese & jalapenos. It was so good.
One thing I will do differently, though...my friend said she cooked her dough first before topping it and then put it back in the oven. So, that's what I did, but she only half way cooked it...I cooked it done & it made the edges way too crispy. Next time I am going to top the raw dough and then put it all in the oven to cook one time. That's actually what the recipe on the back of the yeast packet said to do, anyway.
And another thing I might try next time is to make up some garlic butter and brush that along the edges of the crust before baking - I think that would give it a little extra something yummy, too!
