This is my first full five day work week in over three weeks. The week before the holidays I worked four days due to my Friday off, then was off an entire week for the week of Christmas, the week after that I was only in the office two days…man, it’s been nice!!
So – since today I’m back in the swing of things full force I figured it was time to return to updating SparkPeople. I was very successful last year using this site and lost 36 pounds when I started journaling my calories with SparkPeople. I still want to lose a lot more and I think I gained back some over the holidays (only about four pounds, though) so I am going back to using what I know works! No, this is NOT a New Year’s Resolution. I don’t believe in them. I do believe that New Year’s is a great time to get a fresh start on things, though. And yeah, there’s a difference!!
So, back to SparkPeople – I will go back to recording all my calories and aim to keep them at 1,200 or less Monday through Friday. I’ll also be recording my water intake to make sure that I get all enough water every day. And during the week the kitchen at my house closes at 8:00. That was another trick that helped me…closing the kitchen at a certain time helped to control any late night snacking – and actually we don’t really do this much, so this wasn’t too terribly hard! J
On the weekends I do not stick to these rules, though, but I do try to make smart, healthy choices about eating. I don’t run to the sweets or anything like that, but I don’t count calories or close the kitchen. I just try to be sensible. This way it doesn’t feel like I am on a diet, b/c we all know diets don’t work! And every Monday morning it’s like starting from scratch again and don’t we all do our best when we first start something new?
So…wish me luck to achieve the next half of my weight lost goal!
