Michael is taking off 1/2 day today so we can finish up our Christmas shopping. I have ordered a couple things online and I am really scared they aren't going to make it here in time for Christmas. Yikes! We still have so much to get still - we hardly have any of our shopping done. Every year I say that I am going to get it done early and that never happens! Granted this year I have a slight excuse! Ha ha!
My dad left yesterday for Florida with his brother from California. Their other brother that still lives in Egypt is there having major bypass surgery so they are going there to be with him and his wife. I understand why they have to go, but it also means that daddy is probably going to miss Christmas this year. He's missed many in the past because of work, but it's been a long time since he's missed one and he's been right by mother's side for over a year now while she has been going through everything with the cancer and surgeries and everything. It's going to be hard for her if he isn't here - but she is going to stay with me a while so that will be good and then my Grannie might come stay a little while with her, too. We'll just wait and see what happens. Please be sure to keep my uncle in your thoughts and prayers, though this holiday season that he makes it through this surgery well and that all is okay.
I hear my little darling waking up so I better go...

Well...we're home! We got to bring our baby girl home on Tuesday - she was 2 days old!! Life has certainly changed for us, but it's wonderful! She is so beautiful!!!!
She had a hard time getting here, though. We were one push away from a c-section, but on the last attempt she made it here! I was so thankful! Michael was so wonderful during delivery. He was such an amazing support for me. I rknow I couldn't have done it without him. He's being a amazing daddy, too! My mother was in there with us as well and she really helped me stay calm & get through it all, too. She actually used to work L&D when she was nursing. She was so proud of all of us!
Emma is really a good baby - she can sleep through anything!! We've had all kinds of company & the TV going and everything and she just sleeps away! Being three weeks early she missed out on the last few weeks of sleeping and growing in the womb so I guess she is making up for it now!
I am doing pretty well, too. I have a lot of healing to do, but I am feeling better every day. Luckily I have lots maternity leave so I'll have plenty of time to heal!
She has had to go out to the doctor a couple times since she got home - she was a little jaundice and they wanted to do some tests on her. Luckily today was the last day she had to go, though - we just got news from the doctor that everything is looking good! She even got to go to her first birthday party today - our neighbor's little boy turned one year old today. I was hesitant about taking her over, but we only stayed a little while and she slept the whole time! Since it was just next door we decided it was alright.
Our neighbor on the other side had her baby on Wednesday, too. I think they came home today. I haven't seen her, but I've seen a lot of coming and going in their house. We're going to give her a couple of days before we go visit. She did have a c-section so I know she needs more time to recoup than me.
Thanks to everyone for all the support & well wishes! We're so lucky to have her!

No, not outside! Emma has really been a pretty calm baby & I haven't really noticed one thing in particular that she reacts to...until now! ICE! When I chew ice she starts going crazy!!! After just a few pieces she starts jumping all over the place! I don't know if it's b/c it's just cold or if she really likes it or what, but it definitely gets her active!!!
