Your baby now weighs around 3 pounds and is about 17 inches from head to toe. An ultrasound image may show your baby yawning or even sucking its thumb, and you may also notice that your baby does not move at all during your Braxton Hicks contractions. This is because your muscles tighten and constrict his or her movement. By now your baby is probably more used to Braxton Hicks than you are...from PregnancyWeekly.com.
We'll find out in the morning how accurate this is b/c we're going for the third & final ultrasound! I can't wait to see Emma again!! Her movements aren't as jerky these days, but when she does move it's like she is trying to push right on out the side of my tummy!! She's a strong little girl! As for the Braxton Hicks - they don't really hurt, but they aren't very comfortable either. I've started noticing them in the last few weeks.
My friends at work are throwing a shower for me on Thursday. I can't wait to start getting things for her & for her nursery to see it all set up! Right now we have the crib up and a few clothes & toys in there, but that's about it. I also ended up buying a bassinet from one of my neighbors this weekend. I wasn't planning on getting one and wouldn't have paid for a new one, but this one was in great shape & it all white and eyelet lace - I love eyelet lace! There is a lot of it in the bedding that we registered for. It's all set up in our room already - it just needs Miss Emma! I'll have to take pictures to share as I get the nursery more put together.
I still haven't decided if I want to paint the walls or not. There is a wall border that matches the bedding set & I may put that up...but I am still thinking about painting. If I do decide I want it painted, I still may only paint the back wall and leave the rest white. This set only has light pink & green so I guess I could do one wall of each or something. We'll see! After the one painting experience Michael & I have had, I'm not sure if we want to pick up a paint brush again!! Ha ha!
