8 Months Already

I had my 32 week appointment on Friday...doctor says everything is progressing just fine. She said I am having a completely normal pregnancy & a big baby!! :)

So, here's where things should be according to PregnancyWeekly.com:
Your baby is now 19.4 inches from head to toe and weighs about 4.4 pounds, and you are probably both very aware that it is getting more and more cramped in there. Your baby's adrenal glands have grown and are producing hormones that stimulate you to lactate. Are you thinking about food more in this home-stretch? Seafood can boost the development of your baby's brain, which will develop most during the ninth month. However, the FDA recommends you consume no more than one serving per month of shark and swordfish due to potentially higher levels of methyl mercury found in these fish.

I think Emma is bigger than that, though...as she was 3lbs 13oz at my last appointment!!

I was off work on Friday so that morning I met my sisters (who also had the day off) for b'fast & then headed to my checkup. They went on to Old Town Spring as that is what we had planned to spend the day doing - shopping!!! When my appointment was over I joined them & shopped till my feet & back wouldn't let me anymore - literally! I got there around 11:00 that morning and around 5:00 told them I had to leave. My back is really hurting me a lot more these days and six hours on my feet was my limit!! Evertything was about to close at that time anyway - so we said our goodbye's & I headed home. Needless to say I spent the rest of the day with my feet up!

Saturday morning Michael left very early for the deer lease with his brothers and dad. I tried to go back to sleep, but only managed to sleep another couple hours. So, I was up early and cleaning house - I had done a lot Friday morning before meeting my sisters so I didn't have too much to finish! I did have some errands to run, though so I left the house around 10:00 - I had to pick up another hostess gift for my baby shower & go by the camera store to get a flash diffuser for a photography class. Around noon my niece and her youngest (4 month old Jacob) came over to start getting ready for the shower. It was nice to have a shower hosted at the house - I didn't have to load up anything, I just moved it to the nursery!! ;) I did have a great time, though - a lot of good friends/family came & Emma got some of the cutest outfits!!! I can't wait to see her in them!

That evening my sisters, mother, nieces & their kiddos, and Elaine stayed late visiting - that was a very fun part of the evening, too!!! Good times! After everyone left Elaine & I went to a Halloween Party at EJ & Sherry's. I only managed to stay until about 10:00 - I was so tired!!! So, I headed home for the night & shortly after I got there Michael came home, too. We both had a full day!

Sunday I met up again with Elaine & Christine at the Arbor Gate Nursery for a photography class. It was such a beautiful day to be outside - all weekend was for that matter!!! After the class we head to Cold Stone for ice cream & then headed home. It was a busy, busy weekend for me and at that point I just wanted to take a nap!!! And that's about what I did the rest of the afternoon. Michael was at his brother's house watching football so I put on the House marathon and made myself a nest on the couch & that's where I winded down from my weekend!!
  1. Pretty soon Miss Emma is going to be here!!! Had fun at the shower, and can't wait til this weekend! Have a Good Week!

  2. How funny - on Friday, I was in Old Town Spring too, sitting at Twisted Yarns knitting. That was where we figured out the best way to make the ties for Emma's sweater (it called for ribbons, but I didn't think they would wash well) and I learned new seaming techniques to knit it up! How funny to think you were just down the road shopping at the same time.

Can you email me your phone numbers when you get a moment? I don't think I have the right ones in my cell phone, and I need to update them. :-)
