Did you see me on TV?

We went to the game last night (last minute decision) & my brother-in-law caught a foul ball!!!! I don't know if we were on TV or not actually! It was pretty fun, though - I've never been with anyone that caught a foul ball!! There was lots of drama in last night's game, too. Everyone was getting hit with the ball - even the fans!!!

Two Short Weeks

This week & next are going to be short work weeks for us - Yay!

This week I am off on Friday & then we're off Monday b/c it's Labor Day & we decided to take off Tuesday as a vacation day also. So, this week is a 4 day week & next will only be 3!! Maybe I'll get caught up on my sleep!

Things are getting settled down just a bit. School started so I am getting back into that routine - and we're done furniture buying for a while. We had our new mattress delivered - the old one given away - and the new wall unit/entertainment center for the big screen. The living room looks so much nicer - the TV looks more like a piece of furniture now rather than a piece of electronics!

We had a good weekend, but I spent a lot of time outside in the muggy weather on my feet & paid for it. My ankles were so extremely swollen all weekend. They are much better now, though. I spent yesterday off my feet as much as possible. Hopefully when the weather begins to cool (not for a while, though) they won't swell as much.

This weekend we're going up to East Texas for the Stanley Cup - annual clay shoot my brother-in-law's company puts on at their place - it's a lot of fun & I am the unoffiicial photographer as of last year. This year I am going to have my niece drive me and her daughter Gianna around on the mule so I won't have to walk the whole course!!! It's WAY too hot!

I'm 23 weeks pregnant today

I feel like I'm in the first trimester all over again, though. I got sick this morning - sick feeling anyway - before I left the house & it hasn't gone away. I went downstairs & got a fountain coke to sip on & borrowed a coworker's fan to bring into my office. That's helping a little. I still feel yucky - and I got dizzy a couple times, too. I hope it passes this morning b/c I have a very busy afternoon & plans tonight with friends. We're going to see Kevin Fowler tonight at the racetrack. I hope the weather is decent for it since the concert is outside. Tonight is the last night for the summer concert series out there.

I am going to try to go see mother in the morning - if not then I'll go over there on Sunday. We have a b'day party to go to Saturday afternoon so if I do go in the morning it will just be a short visit. She didn't have a great day yesterday. Just not feeling too great at all. She seems to be feeling better today, though just very very tired.

I had my second class last night. Wednesday nights are Marketing & Thursdays are Accounting. I think I am going to like them both very much. I really like both professors, though they couldn't be more opposite from one another! It's going to be a very busy semester, though to say the least.

We're still supposed to be moving the site to Expression Engine - well, my host guru is going to be the one actually doing the move. Things are just so busy for everyone I can't say when exactly it will happen. So be patient while I go forward with the current set up & the slowdowns & upcoming changes! The (cyber) world will be much better later!

Baby Update

Week 22

Your baby measures about 7.6 inches and weighs about 12.3 ounces. The muscles are getting stronger every week now, and the eyelids and eyebrows are developed. Your baby's acrobatics are pretty constant, and since he responds to sound, rhythm and melody, you can try singing and talking to him. After he's born, the same sounds will soothe him.
Your uterus is continuing to grow, but you're probably feeling pretty good -- no more morning sickness, and your abdomen isn't so large that it's getting in the way very much. You may still be getting leg and foot cramps, as well as mild swelling of ankles and feet.
Tip for the Week:
To reduce cramping, increase your intake of calcium and potassium. Have a glass of milk before bedtime or snack on potassium-rich foods, such as grapefruits, oranges and bananas. If you do get a leg cramp, try forcing your toes back toward your face and pushing down on the knee to straighten your leg.

I have been getting a lot of leg cramps at night - they wake me up they hurt so bad & all I can do is jump out of bed and stand until it goes away. I need to eat more bananas I guess!!! And my ankles are still swelling - not too often, but when they do it's bad. I am definitely growing, though. I need to get some tummy shots taken to post - maybe I'll try to do that this weekend, too!

My Great-Niece

My nephew's wife sent this picture out today & I just had to share! Isn't she sweet?? I haven't seen her since the day she was born (8/14), but I'll get to see her next weekend when we go to East Texas. That will be her first road trip!!

Site's been quirky...

My site has been down a couple of days (Time Warner to blame for that), but like I said before my wonderful host
is moving us to Expression Engine so I am being extremely patient b/c
as soon as we get moved our sites are going to move like lightening
& EE is the best blogging tool so things are going to be super cool
around here - once I learn EE!!! I used pMachine before & it took a
little while to learn, but once I did I could do anything with my site
- EE is like pMachine on steroids so I know it's going to be wonderful!
I need to play around with the demo some more & maybe even start
deciding what I want my new site to look like - maybe I can get it all
ready for when we go live with EE!

We have a busy weekend ahead of us, too. Michael's cousin & his
girlfriend are coming in from College Station & we're going to the
racetrack tonight to see Jason Boland with Steven & Jamie,
& Christopher, and some other friends...but before doing that I
have a lot to do today. Today is my first scheduled Friday off that I
haven't been in the office in a long time - so I'm am getting things
done. I have to take one of the dogs to the groomers & I have to go
buy a dress for a wedding we're going to tomorrow - needless to say, my
tummy has caused me to outgrow most of my other clothes! I am sure as
our baby girl grows I'll outgrow the rest as well!

In the morning I am meeting my sisters at our mother's house - since
she is coming home on Monday (WOOHOO!!) we want to get everything ready
for her! My sister set up a claening lady to come clean the house from
top to bottom - I think daddy is going to hire her from here on out to
help mother at home. We're also getting someone to come out and steam
clean the carpets. My sisters & I are going to clean out the
kitchen good & move around some furniture and do whatever else we
find we need to do...it has been two months since mother was home and
even months before that since she was able to really do anything at
home b/c of the surgeries and the chemo & radiation so we want
everything to be the way she likes it - maticulously clean!!!! My
nephew is going to be taking care of the mowing & weed eating and
Michael and my brother in law are going to work on the flower beds.
Mother loves her yard - she has worked hard to get them looking nice
& I hope to get them up to her standards.

After I get through at mother's I have to come back & get ready for
the wedding we're going to on Saturday night...I'll have to go back on
Sunday morning to finish up and then the next day MOTHER WILL BE
HOME!!! I have a dentist appointment Monday morning at 7:00 and then of
course, work, but I hope that evening to go see her in her own
house!!!! We cannot wait until she gets home - neither can she of
course. You always feel better and get well faster at your own home in
your own bed!

Our Baby Girl

Our Baby Girl Our Baby Girl

During my running around today I finally scanned the
latest ultrasounds of our baby girl! The first one looks like she is
sucking her thumb! The last one is the bottom of her feet - aren't her little toes precious?

I have been feeling her move a lot more lately. It's the neatest
feeling - it feels like little balloons bursting in my stomach! I have
only felt distinct kicks (or punches) a couple of times & Michael
was able to feel it once. She likes to hang out on my right side most
of the time. I hope that isn't the case when she grows bigger b/c I
don't think that would be too comfortable to have her all on one side
like that!!!

Concert, Comfy Mattress, & Visiting Mommy

We went to see Randy Rogers last night at the racetrack last night. I
was so sleepy and after being up on my feet for so long in the heat
& humidity my ankles were so extremely swollen so as soon as we got
home they were up and I was snoozing. They haven't really swollen on me
during this pregnancy until just recently. I have been being very
careful about my salt & trying to increase my water intake,
though...so maybe it won't be too bad.

We did sleep well last night, though b/c we had our new mattress
delivered yesterday. We have been saying for a while we needed a new
one so finally just went out and bought one on Wednesday! Ooohhh...it's
niiice!! It made the bed so much higher I think I am going to have to
get a step up as my stomach gets bigger...I almost have to jump up on
it now, but at 8 or 9 months pregnant I don't think I'll be able to
jump that high!

This morning we were up early b/c Michael went in to work and I went to
the hospital to spend the day with mother. She is doing so much
better!!! She looks great & is improving more and more every day.
This evening Michael went to the hunting show with his dad and brothers
and his cousin...this year it was a guys' outting - the girls decided
we didn't want to go this year!

We're still working on names for our baby girl, too. We have a couple
of  favorites, but no definites yet...so if you have any ideas
please share!

Great Update about Mother

Mother ended up staying at the same place. They are being extremely watchful about the drugs the pharmacy brings up to ensure the same thing doesn't happen again.

We got news back today from her latest CT Scan...everything came back completely clear!!! Even the nodule that was in her left lung (the opposite one she had surgery on) is gone, too!! So, she just has to go through 12 more days of antibiotics & then she'll be coming home!

Thank you God for answering prayers & for taking care of our mother - I can't wait to have her home again!!!

They just need to let her go home...

Last week mother was finally released from the hospital to the rehab
center...she was supposed to be there about two or three weeks for
physical therapy & antibiotics. Well, now she is heading back to
the hospital.

No, not b/c she isn't doing well - b/c her caregivers are incompetent.

The first night she went to the rehab center she was supposed to have
her antibiotics at around 6:00 - daddy had to keep reminding them about
it and their answer was always "the pharmacist is preparing it..." -
well, he they were preparing it for hours b/c she didn't get the
medicine until about 11:00. Not only were they hours late, but they
gave her the wrong mixture of antibiotics and then had a very bad
reaction to it. Everyone rushed around to get her stabilized - her
breathing was eratic and her blood pressure had rose over 200 and she
had uncontrollable rigors/shakes. The management at the rehab center
came in and apologized over and over and said that it wouldn't happen
again. That was one week ago.

Last night I spent the night with mother and daddy went home for the
night. We were up from midnight until about 2:00 AM b/c they gave her
the wrong medicine again!!!!! I wasn't there the first night she had
the reaction, but mother said it was worse the first night than last
night; however, I was scared to death last night. It was so scary to
see her that way. I couldn't believe they had messed up again.

I told daddy about it this morning and needless to say he is having her
removed from the clinic and taken back to the hospital. The physical
therapy was something we can do - all they were doing was walking her
around the floor and at least at the hospital we'll know the pharmacy
will get her drugs right. They could have killed her - if they are
allowed to continue with this type of incompetency they'll end up
killing someone else in the future.

Her doctor said she wouldn't have any antibiotics scheduled for tonight
and it's a good thing b/c they won't be able to get a room for her back
at the hospital for at least another day - so tonight she'll stay at
the clinic again. She did have a lot more room at the rehab clinic and
it was quieter, but what good is all that if they can't administer her
drugs properly?

Just when we thought everything was about to be over and she was going
to be going home soon something else happens. She's survived cancer,
infections, diabetes, nerve damage, the loss of her spleen, most of her
pancrease, and a lobe of her lung all to have the pharmacists nearly
kill her with the wrong medicine. Once she gets back to the hospital
and they get her meds corrected, though I think she'll have a speedy
recovery and hopefully be home very soon.

She really is looking very well despite these two back episodes she has
had there - she looks like mother again and has regained so much of her
strength back. Her spirits are much better, too...I hope this incident
doesn't set that back, though. Outlook determines outcome and if her
outlook isn't positive niether will be her outcome. I believe that
everything is going to be alright now, though that she is going back to
the hospital to finish her antibiotics.

We're having a baby girl!!!!

We had the ultra sound yesterday and found out we're having a little girl...I am so thrilled!!! Michael said he knew all along that it was a little girl (though he had been saying he wanted a little boy)...

My doctor said that everything looks perfect! She is pregnant herself with twins - a boy and a girl and we're due just about the same time so we've been going through all the same things at the same time!

She was moving all over the place durnig the ultrasound so we got a good view at all angles and can surely tell it's a little girl!!!!!!

I have ultrasound pictures to scan, but they didn't print the one where you can tell it's a girl for some reason...so as soon as I get them scanned I'll post!

I'm moving again...woohoo!

No, not physically moving, but my cyber-home is going to be moving soon so you might see some weird happenings around here in the upcoming weeks!!

My wonderful host is moving us to a new server & we're all going to start using EE instead of DNN. I am so glad - I was using pMachine before and loved it and have heard & seen such wonderful things about EE! I am anxious for the move, but things in both our lives are so busy it isn't going to be a quick move I'm sure!

So be patient if the site is slow or down for a while...we're in the construction phase!

Houston Zoo

Wonderful News

When I talked to mother this afternoon she told me the best news - she
is being moved out of the hospital tomorrow & into the rehab
center!!! We knew she would have to go through some rehabilitation
before coming home, but we had no idea when that would happen! Now that
she is eating better and all of her tests are coming back so positive,
the doctors said she is ready!!!

She'll have to go through about two weeks of physical therapy and
antibiotics so that means in about two weeks she is going to be ready
to go home!!!!!!!

I am so excited...and so is she!!!!
