It's that time of year again here in Houston...

Rodeo time! We're going three times this year...to see Clay Walker and John Fogerty. We also have tickets to see Pat Green, but I think I am going to give my ticket up to Michael's brother so they can have a guys' night - his other brother and cousin will be with them, too. This weekend is going to be busy, too - Friday is my sister-in-law's birthday, then on Saturday we're all going to be at the BBQ Cookoff, and on Sunday we're giving a wedding shower at my sister's house!

Sorry it's been so quiet around here. These last few weeks at work have been exhausting...I haven't even really been in my office too much b/c it seems there are meetings on my calendar each and every day...many of them in our other building so I have been going back and forth in this yucky weather, too! I think we're about to start seeing a light at the end of the tunnel, though...hopefully! I have a couple big projects I'm working on too that have been neglected b/c of all these meetings...so basically we're all able to sit and meet and discuss what needs to be done, but aren't able to get to those things to work on them b/c we're in meetings talking about them!!!! I think my calendar is pretty clear for now, though so hopefully I'll be able to catch up before the weekend gets here!

I have class tonight, but have to leave a little early. We have a couple of group projects for this class (MGT 566) and we're meeting for about an hour before class tonight. I am not looking forward to doing a group presentation. I don't mind them at all for work and have to present things to the engineers all the time actually, but that's over a topic I work with daily usually - I don't like having to pick a topic or be assigned a topic to present just to prove I can talk in front of an audience. I've been doing that since I was in elementary school. I guess I really shouldn't complain too much. I know there are some people who are terrified of doing it and this is going to be a lot worse for them than me. Group work was easier as an undergraduate - most students worked only part time and were on campus so much anyway it wasn't an inconvenience to plan meetings. When you're working full time and have a family & are really only on campus for your classes (which are night classes) finding the time to meet isn't nearly as easy. I'm lucky in that both my teammates do not work so it's just my work schedule that really gets in the way. I think we'll be able to do a lot of this project on our own, though. We'll see...

And b/c I like jumping on band-wagons...here's my latest Avatar...which actually looks like me today b/c that's what I'm wearing (though my purse is blue):
