I am getting really tired of getting a phone call from my neighbor every single time the dogs bark. They are dogs. They bark. There is nothing that I can do about it!
I was already awake...sort of...b/c Michael had called me early this morning, but then I got another call from the neighbor behind our house to let me know that the landscapers were in her backyard & that the dogs were barking. I could hear the dogs barking. They were outside my window afterall. I answered the phone w/ "I'm home...and I'll put them up." I put the dogs in the dog run, which puts them two houses away from this particular neighbor. I am literally at my wits end about this. She is incredibly sweet, which makes it even harder. If she weren't it would be a lot easier for me to say, "Look lady, they are dogs. Dogs bark & just b/c you give me a phone call every single time they do bark isn't going to change that fact of nature." I think she is hearing my irritation more and more with each phone call, though. She had told me last week that landscapers were going to be in her back yard this week & I promised to make sure the dogs were in their dog run every day when I went to work. This morning I didn't go to work so I wasn't up before daylight so the dogs were out when the landscapers arrived. She was concerned b/c she thought I had forgot to put them up. I didn't - I just wasn't conscious yet!!
Our neighbors get calls from her, too b/c of their dogs. They have two a lot younger than ours that yap a lot. They don't bother me. The only time a barking dog really gets on my nerves is if it's in the middle of the night. The issue with the neighbor is that she is a stay at home mother with a small baby - less that one year. She says the dogs wake up the baby. This baby must be one light sleeper!
Anyway...I'm up the dogs are in the kennel and suburbia peace is restored. Hopefully. After that I got out of the house for a while and got a facial and returned the movie rental from this weekend. Now I have to hit the books. I have a test tomorrow. I need to find some lunch, too though. Michael should be on the road by now. He said they were planning to head out around 11:00. Okay...off to eat and educate (or lunch and learn as we call it in the office)...
