I hate going back and forth between browsers.

At work we use IE, at home I use Firefox. Some things work at the office that don't work at home. Some of my template I can see at home that I can't see at the office. At work, my template looks fine. At home my calendar isn't centered and the frame around my posts is missing, though the frame on my sidebars is fine - and they both come from the same CSS. Well, the same CSS file, just different tables. I don't understand that. And icons (favicons) work at home that don't work at the office. there a way to make it all look the same on IE and Firefox? Is Firefox the best browser that I should be using?

I have never used anything but IE for as long as I can remember. Well, let me take that back. There was a time a long, long time ago that we used Netscape - but I can't even remember when that was it's been so long. Maybe High School. Anyway, I don't know why we quit using it, but I've used IE ever since. Then a while back I couldn't get any pages to load at home anymore, so I loaded Firefox and the problem was resolved. I don't know why all of a sudden IE quit loading pages when it hadn't had any problems before. So, now I have to deal with the fact that things look differently in Firefox v. IE. Sheesh!

I hope you all had a great holiday!

We had a nice one - our first as a married couple! Thursday we spent Thanksgiving here in town with Michael's parents, then drove up Friday morning to East Texas to celebrate with my side of the family.

We had a great time at both! Saturday afternoon we decided we wanted to cut down our first Christmas tree (pictures to follow), so we headed over to my uncle's house to borrow an axe and in a very short time had our first tree! It is a cedar, about 7 foot tall!!! I can't wait to get it all decorated! I wasn't planning on pulling out all the decorations since we should be boxing things up now anyway, but I can't go through a Christmas season without some holiday in the house!!!

Speaking of boxing up, here is the latest on our house!! We have a front yard, complete with two oak trees and crepe myrtles! Our fence is up and we have cabinets!!! Still to go is the sod in the backyard, the floors, the toilets, and the counter-tops...and that's it! We don't have a definite close date yet, but I told the builder that our loan expired on the 30th and they told us we'll definitely make that!!! Yay!

There are more new pictures here! We're going by today to see if the tile is done. They were supposed to do it last Wednesday, but as of Thursday it wasn't in hopefully it got done over the weekend! I'll have more pictures if it is!

What a vile stench delicious onions make!

I get scrambled eggs a lot from downstairs for breakfast - I like them scrambled with onions and tomatoes, but I like fresh eggs. I don't like that soupey yellow "stuff" they call scramble eggs. So I always make it a point to ask for fresh eggs.

This morning the cook put a lot of onions on the grill. After I finished eating there were actually quite a few cooked onions still left on my plate, which went into the garbage with my plate. Now, hours later, everytime I enter my office I get a waft of odor that I just now realized has to be my breakfast sitting in the bottom of my trash bin.

There is nothing I can really do about it now, though. It's been there all day. Taking it to the trash bin in the coffee bar wouldn't alleviate the odor in my office. I need a candle...we aren't supposed to burn them, be desperate measures and all. Maybe I'll see if anyone keeps air freshner in their office.

You know what...

I think I have finally finished our Wedding Site!! I just wrote up the post for the actual wedding day - ceremony and reception - and realized that was my last page to do!

So...what are you still doing here? Go check it out and be sure to either leave me a comment or sign our guest book!!!

Hmmm...I am really liking the blue!

Speaks very "wintery"!!! I know my title is still the old color, but I'll have to change that in photoshop and I can't do that here at work! So, it'll just have to stay for now!

I have never really been too big on blue - red/pinks are my favorite colors, but this is so much softer on the eyes! I like! Hope you do, too!

WooHoo - so today is our Friday! And you can tell it, too. Everyone is already ready to get out of her for a nice four day long weekend! Michael was also in a wonderful mood this morning b/c of it! A cold front blew in last night with hard winds, so it feels so nice outside. I think it's about 54° outside right now and there are a lot of clouds so I don't think it is going to warm up much! At least it isn't pouring today. It's been raining for four or five days straight I think! The winds last night had my chines horizontal and even blew one off. I thought it was gone b/c I looked for it for a while before finding it. It's still blowing pretty hard out there by the way the trees and the flags look.

Tonight I have to go to the grocery store and by the storage for ingredients to make an old fashioned cornbread salad (yum) for tomorrow's dinner and storage to pay this month's bill. I am so glad we're going to be able to get out of the storage unit after about one more month and we'll finally have enough room of our own to store our belongings!

I know it isn't even Thanksgiving yet,

but I am going to decorate for Christmas around here. So...just overlook it!!!

I wanted to decorate for Thanksgiving, but it's here in two days and I haven't really done anything, so I am getting a jumpo on Christmas instead!

It is really dead around here (office) - don't get me wrong, I have a ton of work to do, but it feels like we're (me and one other coworker) are the only ones here b/c we're all alone on our end of the building! Our entire group is out and it appears so is everyone else that office'd around us. Tomorrow is our Friday, though then we're off Thursday and Friday. I am saving the last of my vacation for when we close on the house.

Tomorrow we're going to Michael's parents' for Thanksgiving and then heading up to East Texas for my family's Thanksgiving. I am ready for another long weekend!

I like peanut butter...

on toast, celery, pb&j sandwiches, even just by itself - but on oatmeal?? I went downstairs to get b'fast this morning and while I was waiting for my bread to toast a man came over with his bowl of oatmeal, which he had already topped with raisins, and got a big scoop of peanut butter and plopped it on top of his oatmeal. I guess if you think about it, it's like eating peanut butter, oatmeal raisin cookies just not all cooked together!! Although it sounds really odd, I have this craving to try it next time I go downstairs for breakfast!!!

I have Gmail invites to give away - First Come First Serve. Not like everyone doesn't already have one or anything! Just leave me a comment if you want one!

Another photo meme...

I am going to start participating in Photo Friday (found via Pamela). This week's challenge is Patterns. Several different things came to mind, but then I remembered a shot that I took when I went to Spain with Elaine.

Actually, I think we both took pictures of this and even bought the materials to make one ourself - Elaine, I think it's time we get on that!!! LOL! Needless to say, I think everything we bought is still in a bag in one of her closets! That will have to be one of our New Year's Resolutions - to actually finish start that project!!

We were in a museum in Spain when we came across this sculpture. I thought I had a picture of the entire thing, but I guess I don't...Elaine, if you do maybe you could provide a link!!

You won't believe what I did...

or what I didn't do!

Last night my parents brought my Grannie, Aunt, & Uncle over to see the house. Michael and I had been by the day before and they had all the fixtures up and the cabinets were in the garage so I thought they might be up!!! And sure enough, when we went into the house the cabinets and all the vanities were up and they were putting down sod in the front yard!!! The only big things left are the flooring, the fence, and the countertops!!! Wow! I can't believe how fast they are working - nor can I believe that I made sure my batteries were all charged and then was so excited about seeing the cabinets and showing my Grannie around that I didn't even get my camera out of the car. I know! I know! I am beating myself up over it already - if the rain goes away I'll stop by this afternoon and take some pictures, though. This rain is going to be great for the sod!!! And all the lights were on yesterday - we brought a flashlight b/c we didn't think we would be able to see, but it was wonderful! I love the lights they put in the dining room and in the foyer! They might be finished earlier than they had predicted - which was December 20th according to the builder when we had our walk through about three weeks ago...maybe longer. I am so excited!

After that everyone came back to the apartment (which is getting smaller everyday) and my dad and uncle and Michael played with Michael's new gun (a Remington 30.06 - I can't get the link b/c unbelieveably the site is restricted here at work) and new scope and we all visited for a while before they headed home. I think my Grannie is going to being staying with mother for a little while so I'll get to visit her while she is here! I don't get up to East Texas often enough to visit with her like I would like I am glad she is here for a little bit!

I think they all really liked the house, actually I know they did! They were all so excited for us! If Michael doesn't go to the deer lease (if it rains) we'll go over Sunday when they aren't working and take a LOT of new pictures to post! I always feel a little funny walking all through the house when there are workers around. I mean, I know it's our house, but I always feel like I am in intruding just a bit! No one comes into my office and checks out all of my paperwork, even if it's their's! I made that comment last night and everyone, almost in unison, said, "It's your house..." - I still try to stay out of their way, though! And around 6:30 at night they are wrapping things up, though. I couldn't believe how far into the dark they work, though. When they were putting up the neighbor's fence they were out there after dark with a flood light mixing concrete! And last night when we were leaving they were laying sod by security lights only! Hey...I'm not complaining. The later they work, the sooner the house gets done, the sooner we can move in!

Michael has already claimed the loft as his and is working on the layout and decorations of everything - he told me I could have the rest of the house...I didn't complain!!!!

I could see my breath outside!

Okay, so it wasn't as cold as all that, but you have to remember that I live in Houston - if the temperature drops below 70° we all pull out our fleece and scarves! When you're used to hot and humid and wearing strapless and open-toe shoes, you also don't want to miss an opportunity for cold weather fassion!! I am in a short sleeve shirt today, but I did wear my jacket to work today! The temperature isn't really what gets you as it is the wind! Whoo...

I love the colder weather b/c I like to wear jackets and sweaters and such, but I love it more b/c I don't have poodle hair that I have to fight to keep smooth! When you have hair as curly as mine you have to do a lot to it to fight the humidity! When it gets cold here in Houston, the lack of the hot 'n humid combination makes my hair so much smoother - no frizz!! And besides that you just feel more active b/c walking on the side walk doesn't make you feel like you just ran a Hell!

Anyway...I am enjoying the cool weather and I really, really hope that it's here to stay, or at least for a while!

I think I have decided to get out of selling Mary Kay, too. I just don't have a big enough customer base and I don't really have the time to be out giving parties all the time either. At first I had orders going all the time, but it really slowed down after a while. It was fun, too but like I said I just don't have the time.

The wedding and honeymoon took me away for a while, then we were in the middle of buying a house, now we're in the middle of building a house and of course it'll take time to get it all organized, then once the new year starts I'll be in grad school - so I am going to very busy for a while it seems! Which is good, b/c I would rather be busy! I am not personally a very organized person, so being busy and having a schedule and timelines makes me get organized. Work is really about to pick up, too. We're still going through a lot of reorganization around here and there aren't very many idle hands around!

Otherwise things are going good...sorry for the lack of posts lately. I am going to try to do a better job of keeping up. I guess everyone has to have their own little downtimes every once in a while! I go through mine, too...maybe more than some, though. I used to post every day during the work week and try to do that now, but that isn't always doable, either!

I have been playing with my background color a bit, though. I really like this layout and don't want to mess with it, but I figure I had better get onboard with at least updating my backgrounds for the seasons! Make it a little more festive around here from time to time. I don't want to get rid of my fairies either, so I'll just continue to work around them. I promise to decorate for the holidays, though. Thanksgiving is coming up so I had better get something together for that, then Christmas will be here before you know it!!!!

It's been over a week since I posted...

sorry! I have just been pretty busy, though I was off last Friday and Monday! So, I have a four day week this week! Here are some random posts/thoughts to make up for it!

Michael and I went by the house on Tuesday. They have the sheetrock done now! I took a few pictures, though I haven't posted them yet. I guess the next steps are the floors, trim, and painting - somewhere in there is the cabinets and countertops, but I don't really know for sure what order it's all in! I need to call and find out what phases they are in now. Seems like I should have already been told that to be honest. The house was in phase five when we signed the contract on it, which was about half way b/c there are 11 phases total.

I am having trouble with my eyes lately. I can't really ready my computer screen that well and when I try to use my reading glasses (which I don't really wear regularly) they work at first, but after a while things start to get wavy on me and cause a headache - though reading my computer screen without them also gives me a headache, so I am screwed either way. I guess that means it is time to revisit the eyedoctor again. I cancelled my vision insurance a few years back b/c it wasn't really saving me any money on doctor visits - however much I saved at the doctor was about the amount I paid the insurance company on a yearly basis so I didn't really see the point (no pun intended)!

I think Michael and I are going to go to East Texas this's deer season you know and he wants to hunt up there since he was at his deer lease last weekend. I guess he's going to alternate between East Texas and Central Texas where his lease is every weekend!

Today (Veteran's Day) is my PawPaw's would have been his 99th to be exact. He passed away 20 years ago when I was 7 years old. He was nine years older than my Grannie who turned 90 this year, though you wouldn't even think she was 75!

I can't believe that it has been one month already!

It seemed like October 2nd took forever to get here and now the time seems to be flying by! We got a "Happy One Month" card today from Michael's parents. It was so sweet!

I guess it's been going so fast b/c we have been so busy. The first week or two we were sharing pictures and stories of the honeymoon with everyone...the we got started looking for houses. That actually went a lot faster than we had anticipated, to be honest. I thought we would be looking for much longer! Thank goodness that wasn't the case!!! And ever since then we have been making frequent trips out just to check on the progress and, of course, have been taking family members by to see as well! We have also been working to get our loan done (and comparison shopping) and Yay - we locked yesterday, which is good since the rates are beginning to creep up faster everyday! Then we bought a pool table, went out of town for the weekend, picked up the table yesterday, and today we have an inspection at that house!

Man, no wonder it has gone by so fast!! We haven't stopped since we got back from the honeymoon!!! And I am sure we won't until we get moved in - and right after that I start school back. Oh, didn't I tell you?? I am starting on my masters in accounting in January!!!

Well it's the end of the month here and I have deadlines that I had better get to!
