Prelude to a Graduation

Well, we made it to hump day!!!! And I got through close very easily!!!! I actually had 95% of it done before I even left on vacation, but when I came back that 5% still to be done was accompanied by things that had piled up in my absence! It wasn't too bad...going through emails and voice mails was what I was really dreading, but it turned out last week was rather uneventful around here, which is great b/c that meant I didn't have to play catch-up on any major issues!!

An interesting thing happened while I was at Christopher's (Michael's little brother) graduation last Sunday. I wasn't really planning on writing about it, but today I decided that I would. Now everyone knows and hates the fact that one or two people will get to an event early and save about ten-plus seats for family and friends - I do it, too. Though I hate being the one to save seats b/c there is always a group where everyone is there at the same time and they give you dirty looks for "cheating" and sending one or two scouts to save seats for the rest of your group. Ugh! Happens at the movies all the time!!! Sunday we had ten tickets (Jersey Village requires tickets to limit the number of people attending graduation). Four of us were there early with the graduate - Michael's parents, me, and Michael. So, Michael's parents sat at one end and he and I went ten seats down and sat to bookend our seats! After a while people started filling in and a group sat in front of us...I didn't realize it, but they had reached behind them and marked two of our seats. I figured most people would try to come down the aisle or at least ask if the seats were reserved, so when I heard them tell late comers they had two of those seats I was taken by surprise and had to tell them, "No, I'm sorry, but these seats are all saved." Needless to say they were rather annoyed and quite bitchy!!! "You should have said something to someone..." and then to one another, "People should say something - now what are we going to do..." Blah, Blah, Blah!! Okay, one minor incident - one major one to go!!!
