Yay!! The weekend is here!!! I'm ready for a couple days off...yeah, yeah, I know, I just got back from vacation, but I haven't had a moment to relax since I came home. There have just been so many things going on...and now I think I'll be able to really relax this weekend. Well, I hope everyone else has a wonderful weekend!!!
This weather!!! This morning, looking out my window, it gives the illusion that nothing exists outside. Visibility is only about ten feet and being up on the 28th floor there isn't much that is within ten feet...so all I see is fog all around. It's actually pretty amazing!! I had a good morning. We had Yoga class at 5:45 this morning. Now it's time for the caffeine, though...so I am off to the coffee bar, cup in hand...and soon will have that wonderful catalyst for the day!! I hope you are having a good morning as well!!!
Yay!!! I have finished my new template!! There are a few links that I don't have yet, but as soon as the pages are completed I will add them as well!! My archives still have the old template, though. I will change them later!!! So...whaduya think?!?!? I was so tired all day today. I feel like I haven't fully recovered from my trip...or haven't really rested from the trip I guess! Today on the way home I was so sleepy. You know, it never fails...while I am driving I feel like if I blink to slowly I'll fall asleep behind the wheel, but the second I put my car into park I am awake. I think my body associates sleep with traveling and everytime I get into travel mode, whether it be in the car, plane, or whatever, my melatonin kicks in and I get sleepy. I wish I could hold onto it until I reach my destination...then at least it would be a welcome feeling b/c I could go to bed! We are looking at wedding pictures tonight. My niece's wedding proofs came in and along with the disposable cameras that were passed out have been passed around from household to household...now they are here for my mother to view!! They are pretty good...I don't like any I am in, of course...but for the most part they all turned out really well. The bride and groom are going to take a few more portraits of the two of them sometime and then start ordering. I am anxious to see those, too b/c they are going to be outside...I am sure they will be beautiful. Hmmm...I think I am going to try again to lay down...maybe I can get a full eight hours sleep if I start trying now!!
I am working on a new template...so please be patient as the format may need a little "tweaking" done here and there!!! Otherwise...I hope everyone had a good weekend!!
Wow...what an exhausting weekend!!! Friday I finally got to my normal routine and went out with friends to play pool and then get dinner/drinks, whatever...and it was so nice to see everyone again. I haven't been out with the group in a while. This weekend was nice also b/c Lawrence was able to be with us. He has been on vacation and took this weekend to come to Houston! It was good to see you Lawrence. Saturday morning I got up and drove to Broaddus. My nephew rode with me and it was nice to have the company. After getting settled in and seeing everyone I met up with Dennon (who was also in East Texas for the weekend) to go out to dinner and see a movie. We had a little fun making jokes about our heritage on the way into Nacogdoches. I may sound East Texan, but at least I don' t write East Texan!! Then it was on to dinner and we went to see Attack of the Clones. It was good, but it was a little slower moving than I expected. I have never been disappointed with a Star Wars film, but this one just took it time a bit more than the rest. Sunday was just as busy. We had Ashley's Baby Shower in Broaddus. I think it went very well...Ashley received a lot of things she really needed and it was a good chance to see some old friends. One in particular that I hadn't seen in nearly six years who was my best friend when we were in elementary. She is now married and has two beautiful children, one of which, is a mirror image to the girl I met the first day of kindergarten who would not stop crying!! Lacy is Crystal's daughter and she looks just like her mother, but think she has a bit more attitude than Crystal did when we were that age!! After the shower I went back to my sister's house to relax in the hammock with a glass of wine and watch the storm move in. About the time I got on the road to go visit my brother the bottom fell out and I got drenched running from his house out to my car!! Then when I got to my grannie's house I had to play Mrs. Fix-it b/c the door-knob on her front door had messed up for some reason and we couldn't get the door open. She let me in through the back door (all the while I'm still standing in the rain!!) and I managed to pry the front door open and take the entire thing apart and fix it. I was proud of myself!! Monday morning I left a bit early to stop by and visit Crystal again...this time to meet her son as well then headed home and to pick up mother and daddy from the airport. They flew in today around three o'clock and are now both passed out!!!! Mother hung out a little longer than daddy was able to...I know at around 3 in the morning they are probably both going to be wide awake. Well, at least they don't have to get up and go to work in the morning...I on the other hand do, so I am going to go get my clothes ready!

I have made a decision...being a smart consumer, I have decided that it is time to purchase a PDA. (Elaine will be so happy) I have been carrying around my Franklin Covey long enough. Now, don't get me wrong...it is great for meetings b/c it is very easy to jot notes quickly and I know a PDA won't be good to carry into a meeting to jot notes but my organizer is big and bulky and heavy and doesn't fit into ANY of my bags, with the exception of my briefcase of course...and who wants to carry that around all the time!?!? So, like I said being a smart consumer, I have done a bit of research and spoke with owners of different models and I am going to the store at lunch today to actually touch and feel different models, but I think I have narrowed it down to this one... And while I am still in the research mode, but very closely approaching the buying mode, if you have any opinions on the matter, please feel free to voice them!! If I think you are worthy, I will take your opinion into great consideration!!! ;) So, Edge please feel free to share your knowledge as well!!! Oh, and one more thing EJ, I WILL see you all Friday night...as scheduled!!!!
I am sorry I haven't been too good about keeping things updated recently!! I am going to try to make up for it this weekend. Work has just been so hectic...especially since I was out last week and another co-worker is out this week!! So...keep checking and sooner or later things will pick up around here!!!
Okay...I have my pictures up now. If you're interested, then please feel free to take a look!!
Okay, b/c of this I may have to force myself to stop checking my site meter!!! I can't believe this led someone to my site...that is pretty hysterical!!!! This day has been rather hard. I am still pretty jet-lagged from the trip and this afternoon it really started to hit me...sleepiness I mean. It has been hard to stay alert. I managed to get through emails and voice mails, but I haven't done a lot of paperwork today. Hopefully tomorrow will easier. I tried to stay awake yesterday afternoon so that I wouldn't wake up too early this morning, but I couldn't fight the Gods of Sleep and eventually gave it. So I awoke once at two and then again a little after four so I finally just got up and went to the gym. I don't think I will have trouble sleeping tonight. Next vacation I am going to come back two days before I have to be at work so that I can recover.
Well, I made it back safely. A bit jetlagged, but safely nonetheless!!! I wanted to post some pics while I was gone, but there was just too much going on. I will get them up tonight though for everyone to see! We all had a wonderful time. Everyone else is still there having a wonderful time. I am the only one that had to leave so soon. It was really very hard to leave...and very sad. I think next year we (the cousins) are all going to try to meet up in the states. It will be easier that way for the two in L.A. b/c they have small children while the rest of us do not! I will keep stories until I get my pictures posted, but I wanted to let everyone know I was back...safe and sound!!
ON VACATION IN EGYPT Well, starting tomorrow anyway!!!! I am just finishing my packing now and am about to crash!!! If allowed I will try to post pictures while I am gone...otherwise, I will disclose full details upon my return!!! Until then...
Here's my Thursday Threesome Off topic of "Outer Space".... The Thursday Threesome for May 9th! Onesome. Hold Me. What's your first remembrance of holding an infant (or if you aren't into kids - a baby animal) ? Feel free to talk about other stand-out holding memories.... I can't really remember the first time I ever held a baby. I have so many nieces and nephews (who are close to my age) it seems as though there were always babies around. I do remember Annie, though. Annie was my baby doll. She went with me everywhere when I was a kid!!! Twosome. Thrill Me. Up for a thrilling ride? Tell us, do you seek the thrill rides at the amusement park or is the carousel more your speed? Thrill ME!!! I love the rides at the amusement park!! The bigger the better!!! Later in the evening I tend to regret it, though. I get mirgraines very often...and very badly. And after a day of being spun and twirled and thrust around in the sun you can put money on the fact that I will have to go home and straight to bed b/c I have a headache. But it is still worth it and I will still take you up on any offer to ride the really big rides!!! Threesome. Kiss Me. Come on - kiss and tell - at least, tell us about your first *real* kiss. My first real kiss...it was 7th grade. His name was Vince. He was in the 8th grade. He and I both played basketball. We had an away game, which meant we took a bus out of town. Well...then boys and girls were allowed to sit with one another on the bus. Now I think they have to sit on opposite sides. He (as did most of the boys) rushed to get on first so he could claim one of the back seats on the school bus. So, when I got on he was saving me a seat...since it was on the way home from the game it was dark...about half way home he leaned over and I had my first "real" kiss!!! I remember when we stopped at a store the girls all rushed up to me, b/c obviously they had been watching, and asked me if we kissed and what it was like...and I must say I remember being rather scared, but later relaxing and enjoying that first kiss!!! Thanks Vince! Come on, baby! Play along and leave us a note so we can find your answers...
Well, just one more day now!!! I said I was going to work half a day tomorrow, but now I am having second thoughts. There is just so much I have to do before the flight and I don't know if I am going to have time. I need to sit down with a list of things that I have left to do and see when I would be able to get them done. Our flight leaves at 4 o'clock tomorrow afternoon so we are going to leave the house around 1 o'clock. We're less than twenty minutes from the airport. I am so very ready for a vacation, but it just happened to fall right in the middle of a very busy time at work for me. I have some good people working with me, though, so I know I won't come back to a terrible mess at least! I am going to do as much as I can on my current project and the girl who has been working with me is going to take care of her part while I am gone...so we won't get behind. In other news, CONGRATULATIONS to Elaine who is starting her new job today!!! I can't wait to hear all about it!!!!
Mesker-Garcia Housewarming Well, the party turned out to be a good success...everyone seemed to have a really good time!! I ended up staying overnight with Kenny and Elaine along with a couple other friends. Today we (Me, Kenny, Elaine, Beau, Kristin, and Jace) went to brunch at Baba Yega's after and stopped off at Old Navy and MicroCenter on the way back to the Mesker home. It was a nice day. Very beautiful outside and warm, but not unbearable!! Friday after work Fabian (a co-worker) and I went to Barney's for a couple of beers and to play pool and then went to Kobe Steak House for sushi. I don't go out for sushi as much as I did when we were in the old office so I really enjoy when we go out for sushi now!! This afternoon I think I am going to take it easy!! When it cools down we might go for a walk around the neighborhood, but otherwise I am just going to relax! We leave for Egypt on Friday...so I only have a few more days to get the rest of what I need for the trip and to get packed. I am going to try to post while I am there, but may not get the opportunity. So as soon as I get back, I'll have to fill everyone in on the trip and post my pictures!
I think I want one of these annoying things for my office...don't ask me why. It is an office decor...and something that I could use to drive my neighbors crazy!!! I have been working on presentation preparations today and I need a break. I think I am going to leave early for lunch and forget about it for a while. Maybe then I'll be able to get through it this afternoon!! I met my mother last night and went shopping until 10:30. I don't really like to shop, unless I have a specific purchase that I have to make. This time it was for summer clothes. I do my clothes shopping about twice a year. When it gets hot and I realize that I don't have anything to wear I go shopping, when it gets cold I do the same thing! I don't find myself dying to go to the mall that often!!! I also needed to get some clothes to wear to Egypt. We leave a week from tomorrow. I didn't realize how close it was. I still have to do some shopping for my cousin before I leave, but I think I will be able to get that done this week. Otherwise I am set to go...and ready for a vacation!!
